Ready for Season 2015

tooks2

After 6 weeks of training before Xmas we recommenced for season 2015 on the 6th of January.
We train as a club with the Under 18s through to A grade with everyone at our club having a role to play in what we aim to achieve and to make the club a better place to be. As a club our main aim is to develop our players on and off the field giving our players a platform to be the best they can.
To prepare and get in the best possible shape we have had a few tough sessions at Pillar street and also Picnic Point where we had no time to enjoy the scenery. The perspiration, fatigue, anguish and effort of the playing group was inspirational to see. Darren Ingram who is the best in the business when it comes to fitness training has also been great and the players respect the time he gives us.
On the training front, a few new player’s standing out are Josh Duncan, Nathan Simpson, Brendan Hall and Aaron Silitoe, while Travis Kampf, Jock Waters and Wayne Barnett (who will also be a great asset on the coaching staff) have just joined and already added to our group. There are too many to name but the guys from last season are also impressing. Some of the young Under 18s are also looking very capable of playing a role in 1st grade. I’m sure within the group we have a few other player’s will step up for opportunities during the season and make a real impact. We have also seen a few old faces around the training paddock which is great to see, in Ned Murphy, Josh Mason and Dan Ford all 3 former grand final winners for Valleys. I would like to thank every player that has turned up during pre-season. It has made it more enjoyable and rewarding for myself already seeing the effort and dedication every session, also the coaching staff and support staff who all play a role.
As the pre season draws to a near and the 1st trial game approaches you can sense the excitement and enjoyment in the players and the coaches. We still have plenty of hard work to go but we are in a good place at the moment. I look forward to seeing you all out at Valleys in season 2015 to watch the mighty Roosters!
