We ventured out to Wattles territory on Saturday afternoon with a very young squad. We expected a tough day with 13 under 18 players and 3 under 16 players, but as is the case this season, we play our best when the younger boys fill in. Despite the 72-6 score line in a good win for us, there is still some areas we need to work on if we are to put a dint into the top 5. Sticking to our game plan has been our hardest achievement. On the weekend was the first time they managed to do that allowing a free flowing game for our boys to take advantage when the time came.
I was very proud to see the way the older boys guided the young guys into position on the field and gave them plenty of scoring opportunities of which they took with open arms. Bryce Whale was the man of the match. He was fantastic in all areas of the game. As a 16 year old he has such a future ahead of him.
