On Saturday afternoon we made our way to Clive Berghofer stadium to take on Souths. We were very under strength with 6 regulars away, but I’m very proud to say with 14 players we were able to get the job done. We started quite well completing sets and sticking to some structure. As is the habit we have, we went away from things at times and frustrated ourselves with simple errors. We were very lucky to be up 14-10 at half time. The 2nd half was all about effort for us. With only 1 player on the bench and 4 guys carrying injuries, we had to work together and back each other up the whole time. To run away 30-20 winners was more than just a massive effort against a good team. Player of the match Nathan Bowering was fantastic all day at hooker and big games from Trazan Rihia, Dylan Haaijar, Cameron Matheson, Marouna Benioni and Nick Ryals all got it across the line. The most impressive thing is that there were 8 other guys very close behind them. It was the best team effort all year and hopefully a great standard we can set for the remainder of the year. Well done boys.
