We hosted Dalby in a wet and Muddy affair on Saturday afternoon. We always knew it would be a tough game and that’s exactly what we got. I was impressed by our defence this week, it’s the right end if the season to get that area under control. We lead 12-10 at half time but It should have been 18-10 if we could kick goals. The game got tougher as it went on and Dalby pushed us all the way. To come out 22-14 victors was a real confidence boost in such poor conditions and with a few of the main playing group out.
It was also great to see young Gerome Burns make his debut in 18’s. He has been fantastic in under 16’s and made the jump up easily with some great efforts in both attack and defence including a great individual try. This week we head to Oakey to take on the bears. They have shown week in week out that they are the team to beat so we are going to have to go into this one really be prepared.
