THE SOUTHERN DIVISION OF MEN OF LEAGUE FUNDRAISING DINNER WAS HELD AT TOOWOOMBA VALLEYS ROOSTERS RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB RECENTLY, AUCTIONEER WAS PETER ROOKAS ,MASTER OF CEROMONY’S PAT O’SHEA GUEST SPEAKERS WERE ALEX LEAPAI, TONY GOLLAN, KERRY BOUSTEAD, WALLY FULLERTON SMITH, NOEL THORNBERRY. GUESTS OF HONOUR INCLUDED GREG PLATZ AND JOHN McDONALD.
The annual dinner was well supported last night with a 90 strong crowd. Alex Leapai and Noel Thornberry were inspiration, Tony Gollan spoke well whilst Wally Fullerton-Smith and Kerry Boustead entertained the crowd.
Graham “Butch” Smith was announced Volunteer of the Year after his amazing work organising the Tenterfield event in February and contributing throughout the year. Pat O’Shea made the night whilst Peter Rookas was invaluable with his hospitality.
We announced $18,000 raised in the last 12 months whilst we also announced that this year’s Heritage Round raised almost $8,000 with 36 pairs of socks ordered which was the most in Queensland.
