The Toowoomba Valleys A Grade suffered a disappointing 28-4 defeat away against Souths last Saturday night.
After a good run of 4 straight wins our confidence was high of going and getting a good result against Souths, but after a poor first half where we were quite soft in defence in patches, it quickly looked like not being our night. Torrential rain to start the second half made a comeback even more unlikely and we failed to adjust to the conditions. In all it was a disappointing night for us and a reality check, that we are still a fair bit off the pace with the front runners of the competition. Bryce Denman was terrific in the middle of the park and played some big minutes due to us going down to 14 players for the last 20 minutes and Luke Smith got through a mountain of defence at hooker. The task for us now even gets harder as we go to Gatton this Sunday to face a very good side, but we will certainly be putting everything in to a match that is crucial for us.
