VALLEYS A GRADE – Our last game of the season and we were keen to finish on a high. It was a big week for our club with the Valleys Junior Under15’s and Under16’s playing in Grand Finals and winning, and Reserve grade needing a win to qualify for the semis. After the disruptions of last week with last minute withdrawals and players playing 2 games, it was good to go into the game with the same team that trained during the week with 3 players’ making their 1st grade debuts, Johnson Viane, Jorden Collinson and Harry Murphy. To get up and focus on performing for our last game and leaving a good impression for our sponsors, supporters and ourselves was our aim and we achieved that. Nula Budden had his best game of the year and was supported well by the whole team. This season we haven’t had the same side on the field for 2 weeks in a row and have used 46 players which isn’t ideal. But to have 8 Under18’s debut and contribute is very pleasing. Also to get 3 teams into the semis is an achievement we are very proud of. We have the talent here and with hard work, dedication and commitment the future at Valley’s is very bright. Personally having Harry Murphy follow in mine and Ned Murphy’s path to play 1st grade for Valley’s is something I am extremely proud of. All the best to the teams playing in the finals and we can’t wait to get back on the field for season 2016!

VALLEYS RESERVE GRADE – A great result for our boys last weekend has confirmed our position in the top five. We are finally getting our best side on the paddock and will be looking to see our best footy of the season over the next few weeks. Best on ground against Oakey last Saturday was Matt Kelly closely followed by everyone else. A big game this weekend coming up against Wattles, who are showing great form at the right end of the season. Well done boys.

VALLEYS UNDER 18 – On a cold and wet Saturday afternoon, the junior Roosters played their last fixture game against the Oakey Bears. A big thank you must go to the Bears who never gave up with the odds stacked against them.  The game was played in good spirits with the Roosters running in many tries. Hayden Quade was awarded Man of the Match in another solid game and Jessie Mailman received Player’s Player in an impressive display. After a slow start to the year, the team has worked hard and really developed into a good side. In saying that, the competition begins again now. This week we play a strong Brothers side in what will be another tough encounter.
