On a very warm Sunday afternoon we took on the Oakey Bears for the right to play Gatton in next week’s grand final. We had a very poor start with way too many errors letting Oakey get out to an 18-0 lead after 15 minutes, but as the first half wore on we managed to get some momentum and get ourselves back into the game 18-12 at half time. Once again, we didn’t start the 2nd half well again, but some great work by Ray Duncan and a great finish by Chris Bray saw us get back to 18-16. Oakey then scored again before we kicked away scoring 3 terrific tries late in the game to run away winners 36-2
8. Best for us today were Robert Trott, Pat Reynolds and Ben Atkins. Now for next week’s Grand Final. Let’s hope we play our best against a very good Gatton side and keep the pride of the Mighty Rooster on top once more.
