Under 18’s Vs Gatton Report

The Toowoomba Valleys Roosters Under 18 Grade is proudly sponsored by Steggles, Construction Site Works, Neil Mansell Transport and Thiess Services. The Valleys U-18’s took on the Gatton Hawks last Sunday in a wet and muddy game. We defended well for most of the game and showed plenty of promise with the ball. When our attitude was good we played our best. Something we are working hard at. Unfortunately after a few sets defending our line we let a very soft try in right on half time taking the score to 10 all. The greasy conditions definitely did not favour us and plenty of unforced errors were made from both sides. We kept at it and tried our best to grind out a win.  With 25 mins to go Nathan Bowering dislocated his knee cap and the game was stopped. Unfortunately, the ambulance had to be called and no more of the game played leaving the scores at 16-10 to Gatton. We wish Nathan the quickest of recoveries. He has been such an important team leader for us and a important club man for Valleys. Even on a loosing side our young back rower Jeff Buckle was our best on the field. His defence was second to none and ran some great lines. We now have two weeks to get back to basics before we take on Wattles.
