VALLEYS A GRADE – After another week off we were back at home against Dalby, who were equally as desperate as us and similarly missing key players. It was a familiar story for us as our previous games where we had our chances and improved in a few areas of our game but were unable to put it into points. Our defense for 70min was very solid and it was great seeing Ben Jarvis back out there and playing outstandingly well. A few key decisions against us broke our spirit but we have to be better than that. The effort was again there but the execution still needs a lot of work with just too many mistakes ruining our chances to score points. Our dedication and focus remain at a high level and we are putting the hard work in at training to always improve. Over the next few weeks we will have a few key players return from injury which will add to the squads. We don’t enjoy the losing but we enjoy the challenge of improving. The final score being 34-18 to Dalby.

Justin.

VALLEYS RESERVE GRADE – It was a disappointing second half performance which let us down in our game against Dalby. After being tied at nil all until about the fiftieth minute when we scored first, we then turned off completely and let in some soft tries with lazy defense and unacceptable discipline. The score quickly turned against us in the last ten minutes of the game and the final score of 30-6 to Dalby had completely undone the effort that was put in during the first half. Best was Nathan Bowering, with just a few other’s contributing. Looking for better this week against Oakey.
JB.

VALLEYS UNDER 18 GRADE – A strong defensive display was the catalyst to the Roosters round 10 victory over the Dalby Diehards, winning 38-12. With a completion rate of 50% the Roosters where forced to defend many raids by the Dalby side. Some good ball movement and an ability to keep shape resulted in some very well constructed tries that saw us lead at the half time break. Defending with 12 for the start of the second half forced us into more goal line defence but once again the boys proved up to the task. Gerome Burns collected the player’s player and man of the match award in another eye catching performance. He was well supported by Junior, Bryce, Mitch, Jordan and Ryan in the forwards while Harry, Nate, Declan and Wally played well in the backs. This week we take an undermanned team out to play the reigning premiers the Oakey Bears in what will be a difficult game in their backyard.
Matt.

VALLEYS C GRADE – The Roosters C graders are getting better and better with every game they play. We are playing with structure and are scoring some very good tries. Our match against Dalby was crucial as we move forward in our quest to play in this year’s Presidents Cup. The 29-12 winning scoreline was credit to the guys who are performing week after week. Our best was Danyon Pidgeon, with excellent support from Luke, Phil, Sam and Josh. It was also great to see one of our most recent great player’s return, Andrew Farrell put in his usual dazzling display of superb football and hopefully we will see him again in red and black soon. Oakey next week in a must win for us to secure a President’s cup berth.
