The Valleys Steggles Chickens, Construction Siteworks and Thiess Construction Valleys U-18’s beat Pittsworth 34-26 on Saturday afternoon. In a scrappy affair, we got the job done… Just. With injuries and countless players unavailable, the boys had to dig deep to get the 2 points. The ever reliable trio of Josh Glass, Jason Sharpe and Hnaloan Budden really stood up even with very inexperienced people around them. One big plus was the return of James Dempsey. He has been short of game time for quite a while and in patches was very rusty but his effort was of a ridiculous high standard. Effort is the key at the moment. Despite the lack of troops it is the determination of the group that has keep us with in reach of the top 5. We are in a position of needing to win every game and that is the mindset we need to take into each week.
