U-18’s
Valleys started the season on a high with a 30 – 24 win over Dalby on Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t the prettiest game but it was a close first half as we went into the break up 12 – 10. With the score at 30 – 16 mid-way through the second half the captain left the field and from there the discipline went downwards and errors creep in. We got lazy in defence and missed some poor tackles and the score got to 30 – 24. Luckily we held on and hopefully the determination we showed towards the end will stay with us through out the year. It was great to see Lawrence Poe cross for 2 tries, with Josh Hancock, Dylan Haaijer, and Nathan Martin all crossing the try line as well. It was also great to see Mitch Gall and Daniel Bain have stand-out games. Next week, we have a big game and we really need to keep improving bit by bit each week and lay a good platform for the season ahead..
