The Steggles Chickens, Construction Site Works and Thiess Services Valleys U-18’s took on Dalby on Sunday. Playing for a grand final spot, we started well scoring off the first set. We had to work hard for points, the Dalby boys pushed us all the way. Our forwards worked well as a group, dominating the ruck and our backs played well off their go forward. All our big players put their hand up and gave us a great first half. The second half was a different story. The heat forced some errors from the boys. Nerves had set in. Dalby had the ball for most of the half asking questions all the time. We scrambled well though, working for each other on the inside and outside. Our defence stood up against a massive effort from Dalby and was the key to our success. I can’t say how proud I am of this group of boys. Some have never played finals footy and are now in their first grand final. One game to go boys. Attitude is everything.
